Congratulations to Cape Fear Academy’s Maya Arora for winning the 2017 National Speech and Debate Opener Hosted by the University of Kentucky. In finals, Maya defeated Gilmour’s Sebastian Williams on a 2-1 decision (Thompson, Abidi, Brennan*). Congratulations to University’s Isaiah Paik for being top speaker.
