Congratulations to George Washington High School’s Katie Jack for winning the 2021 NSDA National Tournament in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. In finals, Katie defeated Washington High School’s Catherine Liu on a 8-5 decision. Congratulations to William Chrisman High School’s Caden Metcalf for being top speaker.

PF Nats Topic is Social Media

The 2021 National Tournament Public Forum debate topic is, Resolved: In the United States, social media is beneficial for democratic values. A total of 637 coaches and 968 students voted for the resolution. The winning resolution received 55% of the coach vote and 43% of the student vote.

Harker closes out the NDCA

Congratulations to the Harker School’s Akshay Manglik, Andy Lee, and Deven Shah for closing out the 2021 National Debate Coaches Association National Championship. In semifinals, Akshay defeated Sage Hill’s Max Perin on a 2-1 (Flores*, Ribera, Davidson). Congratulations to Harvard-Westlake’s Andrew Gong for being top speaker.
